On June 6th, 2024, the Deerfield Beach Percy White Library will host a patriotic concert to commemorate the 80th Anniversary of D-Day. This event is part of a series of celebrations and tributes to honor the brave men and women who fought during World War II and to remember the historic events of D-Day.
The concert will feature local musicians and performers who will pay tribute to the veterans and heroes of the D-Day invasion through a selection of patriotic songs and music. The event is a family-friendly affair, and all are welcome to attend.
The D-Day invasion, also known as Operation Neptune, was the largest seaborne invasion in history. On June 6, 1944, Allied forces landed on the beaches of Normandy, France, in a massive offensive to liberate Western Europe from the occupation of Nazi Germany. The operation involved more than 150,000 troops from the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, and other Allied nations.
The D-Day invasion was a turning point in World War II and a significant step towards the eventual defeat of Nazi Germany. The operation was a testament to the bravery and determination of the soldiers who fought on that day and to the strategic genius of the Allied commanders.
The concert at the Deerfield Beach Percy White Library is a chance for the community to come together to remember the sacrifices made by the soldiers and to honor their memory. It is a time to reflect on the importance of freedom and the cost of maintaining it.
The concert will take place at the Deerfield Beach Percy White Library, located at 837 E. Hillsboro Blvd., Deerfield Beach, FL 33441. The event is free and open to the public. For more information, please contact the library at (954) 360-1380.
